Tenerife is famous for all year round sunshine and black sand beaches, which are attributed to the Volcano "El Teide" situated at the centre of the island. The crystal clear waters that surround this lively island make it a popular water-sports destination.

The beaches of Tenerife are mainly situated around the major tourist resorts, some are of natural fine black sand, some of shingle and rock, others are man made and are of high quality.

Daytime activities in Tenerife are in abundance and cater for most. They include hiking and cycling, paragliding, surfing, fishing, diving, sailing and golf.
